SweetIM Menu – Help

Using SweetIM bar
After installing SweetIM, a new bar of buttons will appear in the chat box. Pressing on any one of the new SweetIM buttons will open a menu where you can choose from tons of cool free content that is constantly updated.

The top section of each menu shows the content which was last used, while the bottom section suggests new content rotating constantly.

Getting More content
Press "All" at the bottom left of each menu, to view more content.

After clicking "All" you are able to access all the content in the group by navigating through the new categories that appear on the left side of the menu.

Creating Shortcuts
Shortcuts to your favorite emoticons can be easily created to send your buddies. Simply place the cursor on any emoticon and click on the "EDIT" text which appears on the top of each icon.

Clicking the "Edit" will show an edit box where you can type the shortcut text you’d like, and after pressing "OK", you’ll be able to select that emoticon by simply typing the shortcut text in the chat box.

Configuring SweetIM
Pressing the "i" button will enable you to access SweetIM configuration box.

Enable Default Shortcuts – SweetIM comes with 20 pre-defined shortcuts for popular emoticons. They include the commonly used signs for shortcuts as defined in MSN, Yahoo and AIM Messengers including: Winking Smile ; ) , Crying :’( , Kiss (K) and many more. To disable these shortcuts, un-select the Enable Default Shortcuts Item.

Enable My Custom Shortcuts – This allows the user to Enable or Disable all the Custom Shortcuts, which have been defined by the user as described in the “Creating Shortcuts” section above.

Replace text with emoticons – Currently any shortcut places the emoticons in addition to the text word in the chat box. Activating this feature, will place the Shortcut emoticon Instead of the text word.

Automatically play Winks, Audibles and Sound - This feature allows you to configure whether you’d like Winks, Audibles and Sound content sent to you from your buddies to play automatically or not.

Automatically play Super Nudge - This feature allows you to configure whether you’d like a Super Nudge sent to you from your buddies to play automatically or not.

SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer
Toolbar for Internet Explorer is an extension into the browser. You can now place SweetIM Emoticons and other cool icons into any web based application, including forums, blogs, social networks and your favorite web based email, including Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, AIM Mail, Google Gmail and more.

Simply sign in to your web email, blog, social network or forum, and select anyone of the icons from the SweetIM menu by click on the button on the new SweetIM toolbar. Your favorite icon will be inserted and visible to your buddy, without him/her needing to download SweetIM. See SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer Help for more assistance.

Problems with web email and other web applications
SweetIM Smilieys can only be applied while "Rich Text Editor" or "Color and Graphics" setting have been selected. In web based emails, you must be in Compose, Reply or Forward message. For other problems with SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer please see Troubleshooting.
